In May 2010, the Institute of Health and Care Sciences has the pleasure to receive Heide Bursch, PhD-student from IOWA, USA and David Rabinowitsch, DNP RN, CHTPI, Associate Professor of Nursing at Orange County Community College, USA.

Title: Journal interpretation: An application of the hermeneutic phenomenology of Paul Ricoeur,

The lecture describes in some detail Ricoeur's philosophical lens, his 4-step method of hermeneutic interpretation, and findings from the analysis of 24 journals written by family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease.

  Holistic Nursing in the US - Healing Touch for Self Care

David Rabinowitsch, DNP RN, CHTPI
is a holistic nurse who has practiced and taught guided imagery and energetic healing for many years. He received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western University completing research on HT offered for college credit. His MS education from Russell Sage College prepared him to be a Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Working in hospice, he incorporates principles of Healing Touch into every day nursing care. He is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Orange County Community College and also maintains clinical practice as a Hospice Nurse. David has spread the gifts of holistic health and wellness in the U.S and abroad.
